You’ll read in the Associated Press report below that the Iditarod ignored eyewitness accounts of Ramy Brooks beating, slugging and kicking his dogs. The Iditarod suspended him for two years ONLY for the actions he admitted. By ignoring eyewitness reports, the Iditarod is encouraging animal abuse. When mushers know eyewitness accounts are disregarded, they are more likely to hurt their dogs and then lie about it later.
