The Iditarod race stats were jumbled again this morning as Lance Mackey picked launched from Takota and blew through the Ophir checkpoint just prior to 7:00 a.m., leaving Zack Steer, Jeff King and Martin Buser behind.
As expected, the 2007 Iditarod is setting a record pace and several top teams remain in the running to win. No single clear leader has yet emerged, and as we approach a flutter of 24-hour layovers, the leaderboard will likely get even messier.
